Local dentistry hosting annual ‘Cash for Candy’ post-Halloween event

TOLEDO, Ohio — A popular Toledo-area post-Halloween tradition is back for another year.

Frankel Dentistry is hosting its annual community “Cash for Candy” event starting Nov. 1. Trick-or-treaters can bring their leftover, wrapped Halloween candy to Frankel Dentistry and receive $1 per pound.

The Halloween candy buyback is a sweet alternative to too much sugar and allows kids to enjoy the fun of dressing up and trick-or-treating without the worry of developing cavities and unhealthy habits, Frankel Dentistry said in its announcement on Monday.

Kids at ProMedica Children’s Hospital treated to Halloween surprise

TOLEDO, Ohio — Children at the ProMedica Russell J. Ebeid Children’s Hospital in Toledo experienced Halloween and the fun of dressing with a surprise free costume of their own Thursday.

Anastasia Eck said her daughter, Kimberly, was admitted to the hospital for stomach pains two weeks ago.

“We figured maybe she just had like a stomach bug, so we were expecting to just be here for a couple of hours and then get sent home,” Eck said.

Annual Zombie Crawl brings boost to Uptown Toledo

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – It was a Halloween takeover at the Annual Zombie Crawl on Adams Street Saturday night.

“We shut down the Village on Adams which is Adams Street between 11th and 21st Street,” said Village on Adams Secretary Daniel Ortiz. “The entire street is shut down for the night and the bars move their actual bar outside and we have entertainment up and down the street and folks come and dress up as zombies or any Halloween costume really.”

For some, it’s a brand-new experience, for others, it’s a yearly tradition.
