TOLEDO, Ohio — More than 1 million people visit Wildwood Preserve Metropark a year.
But once the second phase of the Glass City Metropark opens, leaders expect that number will be topped because of the new developments.
“We think this will be the center of the action here in downtown Toledo,” said Scott Carpenter,
Right now, phase two of the Glass City Metropark is under construction.
The second phase will feature brand new attractions for Toledo including a Poco Piatti restaurant, an ice skating ribbon, and play parks for kids.
In addition, a new riverwalk will be constructed downtown over the next few years.
“It will enhance the quality of life for those of us who live right here. It will be a gateway to northwest Ohio. We think it will be the number one destination in Toledo.”
Construction of phase two has already brought new jobs and economic developments into the area.
