OHIO — A recent study by WalletHub named Ohio best in the Midwest for summer road trips and No. 4 in the country.
The Buckeye State was ranked No. 1 in the Midwest mainly for its prime location. About 60% of the U.S. population is just a day’s drive from Ohio, but experts said our interstate highway system was also a huge benefit for vacationing right here in Ohio.
“Whether you’re looking to go to a super populated area and catch the big city or to check out one of those charming small towns, or stop by one, a roadside stand in one of our rural areas and see the beautiful countryside of rural Ohio,” said Lydia Mihalik, who serves as the director for the Ohio Department of Development. “It’s super easy to do here, especially during the summer.”
