TOLEDO, Ohio — Power up those pens! The youth writing contest is returning to the Toledo Lucas County Public Library system, where local kids can win prizes for their short stories.

The contest is open to youth in grades K-12. According to their website, stories can be about anything at all — but must include the word “pumpkin.”

Winning prizes are separated by grade-level categories: K-2, 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12. There are several prizes, including a 1st place prize of a Nintendo Switch Lite for grades K-8, and Beats Studio Buds for grades 9-12. A full list of prizes and more contest information can be viewed here.
